UWE Employability Film

Latest News

Omni's second film for the University of the West of England, 'Start Here, Go anywhere', explores how studying at Bristol UWE develops the skills and attributes in students that will make them more employable when they graduate. The piece uses a combination of crisp studio visuals and emotive event moments set to a rich soundtrack by award winning composer and regular Omni contributor; Daniel Berridge.

Through April and May 2007 the production was filmed on location at the UWE Fashion Show, the Varsity Boat Race and at the University's performance of Faurés Requiem in Bristol Cathedral. The film effectively demonstrates how the opportunities open to UWE students, and the University's focus on what employers want from graduates can better prepare students for life after their studies.

Omni worked with the Marketing and Communications Department at Bristol UWE to ensure that the University's policies and experience were conveyed in a clear way that would connect with the film's prospective student audience. This was done by adopting the approach of openly recognizing and acknowledging student fears and concerns regarding employment and their futures.

Full production services were carried out in-house at Omni, from concept and script-development through to final edit and grade.

"The brief for the project was not an easy one, and Omni put a great deal of effort into finding the right shape for this production. The finished film found an engaging way to successfully combine narrative, message and branding without feeling contrived. The feedback we have received so far indicates that the production has been a great success. I look forward to working with the Omni team again in the future."
