Who Are We
An Award Winning Team

The core, multi-award wining Omni Productions team is made up of Sam Hearn (Director and MD), Richard Penfold (Writer / Director) and Rachel Drummond-Hay (Producer).

Richard Penfold and Sam Hearn began their creative collaboration in 1995 at The International Film School, Wales where they realised a shared creative attitude and passion for storytelling.

Following graduation they continued to work together in evenings and weekends producing music videos, title sequences and short films before co-establishing Omni Productions in Bristol, May 2002. Rachel Drummond-Hay joined the team in 2005 following a successful career of producing short films for UK Film Council and SW Screen funded schemes.

Together the team have steadily built a reputation for producing emotionally engaging, high quality films, dramas and communication/promotional videos.

Their latest drama production 'Leaving', (staring Kierston Wareing, BAFTA Best Actress Nominee - Ken Loache’s It’s a Free World, and Johnny Harris, Paul Andrew Williams’ London To Brighton) was broadcast on ITV, SKY, CANAL+ and has since won 3x IVCA awards, including Best Drama, Best Direction and Best Script. The film also went on to win 1st prize at The London Film Festival and the silver dragon award at International Polish Krakow Film Festival.

Significantly, in addition to their recent successes, their first ever short film ‘Dog Years’ has been selected by the BFI (British Film Institute) as a short film of note alongside the first works of Ridley Scott, Shane Meadows and Ken Russell in their definitive guide to Britain’s film and TV history: Screen Online.
